ARSENAL BEATS LIVERPOOL IN 4TH ROUND
The Carling Cup fourth round match between Arsenal and Liverpool was one of Arsenal’s most excellent performances. It was Fran Merida of Arsenal who struck the first goal which covered around 18 yards!! Craig Eastmond who is the debutant for Arsenal exhibited great capabilities and Merida played equally well. The visitors had no intention to rest and were motivated to pull their own first goal. This happened when Ryan Babel passed the ball to Liverpool’s Emiliano Insua who caught it on his chest and hit a nearly 26 yard superb strike to level the scores at 1-1. The third and last goal of the match came from Nicklas Bendtner of Arsenal. He shot the goal at the net’s roof. After that though Liverpool tried to level the scores for the second time with a well hit free kick by Babel and efforts by other players, they couldn’t achieve it. It was Arsenal’s day.
