ATP STOCKHOLM OPEN 2009
The Stockholm Open started on the 19th of October with top players like Marcos Baghdatis, Tommy Haas and Robin Soderling taking part. Soderling met Andreas Seppi in the quarter finals with the first set being completely dominated by Soderling. Except for the brilliant performance from both sides for the last two points to make the set 6-1 the set was quite dull with a 5-0 lead by the Swede. In the second set quite the opposite took place with Soderling trailing at 0-3 but he came back to form getting 6 games in succession to take the match. Meanwhile Bhagdatis advanced to the quarters with a very easy win after defeating Robert Kendrick from the US with scores 6-2, 6-2. But the shock of the day came when German Tommy Haas withdrew due to flu. This resulted in Jarkko Nieminen advancing to the next round in the tournament. Feliciano Lopez from Spain got eliminated from the contest after losing to Oliver Rochus.
