The WTA Sony Ericsson championships that is being held in Doha currently is just a battle of immense talent and guts. With just three more days to go, the contest has reached its semifinal stage and will soon declare the end of the Sony Ericsson WTA for the year 2009. The one player who has dominated the show so far has been Serena Williams who has already ensured that she is in the semifinals of the Women’s singles. The matches today that will finally decide all the semifinalists and subsequently finalists will be between Victoria Azarenka and Agniezska Radwanska, fellow RussiansSvetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Dementieva and Jelena Jankovic and Caroline Wozniacki. Meanwhile the other Williams, Venus who had real bad luck in spite of playing really well but losing tight matches against Elena and Serena beat Kuznetsova 6-2, 6-7, 6-4 in her 3rd round robin match to sustain her chances of defending her Doha title.
