BUTTON TAKES THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The last race of the F1 season for 2009 was held in Abu Dhabi on the 1st of November and the winner was Sebastian Vettel who finished the race in a little over one hour and thirty four minutes and earned 10 points for it. Renault teammate Mark Webber came 2nd just 17.8 seconds later. Jenson Button of Brawn-Mercedes came third while teammate Rubens Barichello came 4th. Nick Heidfeld of BMW Sauber finished the 55 lap race to complete the list of top 5 drivers of the race. In spite of leading the race at the beginning after taking the pole position on Saturday Lewis Hamilton couldn’t take control of the race due to brake problems in his McLaren which forced him to withdraw from the race. The final driver standings are led by Jenson Button who has a total of 95 points followed by Sebastian Vettel and Rubens Barichello at 84 and 77 points respectively.
