1. Dishwasher
Ensure there are no plates left in the main compartment. Then tape down the racks, door, basket, and all other parts that can be moved or detached. Read the manufacturer’s manual for instructions on how to remove the water hook-up. Tape the power cord to the dishwasher’s body. Finally, tape a foam pad around the dishwasher to protect it from damage.

2. Dryer
Take out the exhaust hose from the wall. As with the dishwasher,tape all moving or detachable parts into the body. Lastly, wrap a large foam pad around the dryer to cushion it during transit.

3. Refrigerator
Empty the contents and defrost the refrigerator a 3 to 4 days before moving day. Remove all movable shelves, doors, barriers, and other detachable components. Wrap these items together to avoid loss. Thereafter, tape the door and power cord to the refrigerator’s body. Wrap several layers of pads around the refrigerator then put the appliance in a large corrugated box.

4. Washing machine
Tilt the washing machine sharply to drain the water trapped in its reservoir. Dry the interior then remove all accessories and removable parts. Place these parts in a plastic bag or a separate box.Secure the lid of the washing machine with layers of duct tape and place bubble wrap all around the body.
